Idea-Thon

Building the Association of the Future

May 15, 2023 | 1 pm CT

Imagine the power of multiple brains collaborating and innovating with one goal in mind: solving the most pressing association challenges using Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Blue Cypress is bringing this vision to life with its first ever Idea-thon. Participants will brainstorm the biggest challenges that associations face today and then team up to create a pitch for an AI-fueled solution to one of those challenges. 

The best part? No coding experience required! All we ask is that you bring creativity and of course… ideas! Sound like fun?

Why apply? Idea-thon participants can expect to:

Ideate around meaningful challenges associations are currently facing
Collaborate with like-minded association professionals
Surface potential AI use cases for associations
Compete for prizes (and bragging rights)
Apply by May 2nd, 2023 to be considered!

Answering some FAQs.

What is an idea-thon? 

An idea-thon is a collaborative event where participants work together to generate solutions to challenges - no coding experience required! Our idea-thon participants will generate ideas to solve meaningful association challenges using Artificial Intelligence (AI). 

What's the format? 

The idea-thon will be held virtually on the Matchbox platform. First, we'll have a kickoff and a collaborative design session where participants will brainstorm various challenges that associations face. Teams will then have the opportunity to meet one another to start working on their solution with the help of a mentor. Teams will submit their pitches asynchronously, and two winning teams will be selected—one by our panel of judges and one by the public.

 When is it?

The first live session will be Monday 5/15 at 1pm CST. Teams will then meet and decide their best path forward to submit their pitch by Monday 5/22. Winners will be announced at SURGE in June!

Is there a cost to participate?  

The event is completely free for those selected to participate. 

Do I need to form a team? 

Nope, leave that to us! We'll assign you to teams.

Is there a prize? 

Absolutely! The winning team selected by the judges will receive $2,000 and free registration for digitalNow (an incredible conference for forward-thinking association leaders hosted by Sidecar). The winning team selected by the public will receive $1,000 and 20% off registration to digitalNow.

When will participants be notified if selected to participate?

We'll notify those selected to participate in early May.
